Pumpkin give the sauce in this dish a smooth texture. It's a great fall pasta recipe!

Ingredients

• 16 oz Sweet italian sausage

• 1 Bay leaf, whole
• 4 cloves Garlic
• 1 Onion, medium
• 1 cup Pumpkin puree, unsweetened
• 2 tbsp Sage, fresh

• 1 cup Chicken broth

Pasta & Grains

• 16 oz Penne pasta

Baking & Spices

• 1/8 tsp Cinnamon, ground
• 1/2 tsp Nutmeg, ground
• 1 Salt and freshly ground black pepper, coarse

Oils & Vinegars

• 2 tbsp Olive oil, extra virgin

Dairy

• 1/2 cup Heavy whipping cream
• 1 Parmesan cheese

Beer, Wine & Liquor

• 1 cup White wine, dry
